dianamoon asked me about my interest in
Thieves and Kings. It's a fantasy adventure comic book/story that's been running since the early 90s (oh gawd, 1994) that I've been reading off an on since then. The format is half-prose, half-sequential art or art pages, and I just found it charming. It comes out only a few times a year, and at this point, I've lost track of the story, but I keep getting it faithfully, because it's a quality story from an independent publisher. Some day, I will sit down and catch up on the past few year's worth of individual issues. However, if this interests you in the series at all, there are trade paperbacks collecting the full story.
I find the whole venture, from publisher to story itself, damn charming. You might, too. *g* If you just want to dabble in the universe, I suggest buying the very funny
Walking Mage compendium, which is a collection of newly coloured comic strips gathered up from various places, involving one bumbling character from the T&K universe.
So, anyone else out there reading this series? ^^

It's not quite over yet. I think the creator talked about 2.5 more "books" (collected TPBs) before he would be done.
